The THOC Network is committed to treating the whole individual, not just the disease. We offer different types of support groups as well as Chair Massages and Gentle Yoga. These services are open to any cancer patient, survivor or caregiver in the Metroplex.
The philosophy of the McKinney Regional Cancer Center is to provide a range of services to make life easier for the patient and their family during a difficult time.
Support Groups –
- Through its growing Support Group program, MRCC offers discussion, emotional support and educational programs to cancer patients and their loved ones to help them cope with cancer. The Dialogue Support Group meets at 12 p.m. and at 6:30 on the second Tuesday of each month. The Grief Support Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon. The Impact Support Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. All sessions are held in the PCCC Community Room, and a complimentary meal is served. Participation is open to all cancer patients and their caregivers, and attendees come from all across the metro area.
- Dietary Counseling –
- A diagnosis of cancer brings with it many dietary challenges. Licensed dieticians provide nutrition counseling and diet planning services, as well as address the issues of vitamins and other supplementation to help the body during the cancer treatment phase. Do not hesitate to ask for recommendations should you require these types of services.
-
Financial Counseling –
- While the ultimate responsibility for a financial obligation belongs to the patient or guarantor, our goal is to assist our patients and families in every way possible to maximize insurance coverage. Our business office specialists and financial counselors serve as resources for working with your insurance provider and finding answers on your behalf. We participate in Medicare, Medicaid and most managed care plans. To see the Insurances we accept, click here.

Laboratory -
- Our onsite laboratory provides specialized testing for oncology and hematology. The Lab’s capabilities span all types of tissue, including tumor marker tests. While patients and referring physicians benefit from the convenience of a lab within the Cancer Center, insurance contractual arrangements may require patients to use other labs, with the results sent back to MRCC physicians in a timely manner.
-
Lodging –
- For our patients and their families who come to MRCC from outside the area for their care, we’ve made arrangements with the area hotels for discounts and transportation. Please request a current list from the receptionist or another staff member.
-
Massage –
- Private 20 minute chair massages are offered twice a month at both PCCC and MRCC for cancer patients and their caregivers. To schedule an appointment, please call Wilma Adams at (972) 395-1010.

-
Pharmacy -
- Oncology-trained pharmacists and technicians provide medications that are typically required by cancer patients in their cancer patients in the infusion center.
-
Psychologists/Social Workers –
- Your MRCC doctor or his nurse has a list of names available of psychologists and social workers experienced in serving the needs of cancer patients and their families. Do not hesitate to ask for recommendations should you require these types of services.
